One shelf was cracked but I glued it back together with wood glue having assembled it without noticing and it was fine. Thankfully just looks like a bit of the wood grain. It also had a glob of wet glue on the top bit which ended up hidden so not an issue worthy of returning it. I got it on sale and wouldn't have paid full price, but am ordering another at the sale price because it's a good enough little bookcase. Absolutely love it, just what I was picturing when I wanted a new bookcase. Big, chunky and looks very industrail, which again is what I was after. It's of course not "real" wood, but honestly you couldn't tell from a distance. The shelves are much chunkier than I expected which is a good thing, very heavy! Very good quality for money. Looks lovely in my room. Delivery was also very fast. And for those of you that are looking for someone who has pictures AND tells you if the colour represents the images on the website, I'd say yes, though ever ever so slightly darker, the same colour tone though just a touch darker to the eye than the images online.. I bought this bookcase online because it was a reasonable price and narrow enough to fit where I had a space and with several shelves. I was a bit daunted when the flat pack arrived but I got myself a hammer and a couple of screwdrivers and set out with determination to DI-Me! The instructions were very clear and not too technical and all the bits were there and clearly labelled. It came together very well and seems strong and not at all wobbly.
