This luxury designer London Bus Cushion is hand embroidered with a striking London Bus design, like that of the old Routemaster bus, appliquéd in Constantine red onto a cream pure wool base. The detail on the London Bus cushion is all hand-embroidered, from the little grey windows to the No 73. Jan’s patriotic caption ‘I Love London’ is appliquéd in red, grey and black, using Jan’s own original Constantine script, with the O for Love being replaced by a Union Jack heart. The London Bus cushion is edged in red blanket stitch and fastened on the back with 2 mother of pearl buttons. The route number on the London Bus Cushion is 73 and it was introduced on the 30th November 1914! Number 73 is Jan’s most traveled route whenever she takes the bus in London, getting on at Islington or Euston and getting off at Oxford Circus, Bond St or Knightsbridge. ‘The Daily Telegraph’ called route 73 one of the "best routes for sightseeing on a shoestring" Jan says, “You can’t beat the view from the top deck of a no 73 London Bus, streets bustling with people, iconic landmarks, parks, shops and stores. I loved traveling by bus even more, when I could hop on and off the open back platform of the stationary vintage Routemaster buses. I created this cushion, hand embroidered with the London Bus, to remind me of the city I love so much!”
