How to Style a Trans-Seasonal Outdoor Bar
When planning the design of an outdoor space, try to take the same approach as you would with your interior, honing in on a clear colour palette, consistent aesthetics and decorative finishing touches which add that all-important pizzaz.
Style your space for comfort as well as entertainment. A classic adirondack chair adorned with a plush sheepskin throw will be oh-so-inviting from summer to autumn, while cushions and garden rugs add tactility and help to create that indoor-outdoor vibe.
A garden bar is this year’s must-have outdoor trend. Creating your own watering hole is an ideal way to add a focal feature to your garden, while entertaining your lockdown-fatigued guests in style.
For a harmonious look that chimes perfectly with your garden greenery, opt for a tiki finish on your bar, then weave in other natural elements like seagrass baskets, rattan bar stools, raffia mirrors and sprays of pampas grass in simple clay vases. For a final flourish adorn the walls with a rustic wreath or a display of decorative plates or trays. Three is the magic number!
Who said fireplaces were just for interiors? Installing a mantelpiece alfresco is a great way to add a dash of quirk to your exterior. The best news is that it will make the perfect plinth for a stylish showcase of garden decor, from herb pots to miniature planters.
Finally, think about the transition from daytime to darkening dusk and style your space accordingly. Lanterns, hurricane lamps and candelabras will help to create that glimmering glow as the sun goes down.
