Born in Tel Aviv, he attended the Academy of Art in Jerusalem and the Architectural Association in London. In 1973 he moved to London where, in 1981, he founded One Off Ltd. with Caroline Thorman. In 1989, with Alison Brooks and Caroline Thorman, he formed "Ron Arad Associates", an architecture and design practice. In 1994 the practice moved to Como, Italy. Ron Arad is honorary professor at the "Hochschule" in Vienna, honorary curator of the International design Yearbook and 1994 designer of the Year. Amongst his architectural works: Mercedes Benz AG, Birmingham 1996, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark 1996, Adidas/Kronenburg Sports Cafes, France 1996, Adidas Stadium, Paris, 1995-96, Art Gallery Competition, Walsall 1995, Galerie Aschenbach, Düsseldorf 1995, Belgo Central, Covent Garden, London 1995, Office "Y" Building, Seoul, Korea 1995. In the furniture and industrial design sector he has worked with Vitra International, Moroso, Driade, Noto, Kartell, Artemide, Poltronova, Sawaya, Moroni, Lippert Wilkins, Ritzenhoff, Alessi, FIAM Italia, and Martell. He has taken part in numerous exhibitions all over the world and his works are present in many public collections. NOTE: This is a special-order item.
