I love this I don't know why people are saying the material is bad. I think they only say the because the person who assembled it for them was horrible at it. Our son loves his bed, and it genuinely seems to be a solidly made bed with tons of desk top, shelves and drawer space. That said, it is a bear to put together. At some points three people were needed, and the instructions, while likely as clear as they could be, were still difficult to follow at times, especially at the beginning.
