Even better than I thought it would be. I usually use my futon for sleepovers only but this mattress is also suitable for use as a regular sofa. We originally wanted a Japanese style mattress but, it's quite expensive and storing it won't be as easy so we bought this mattress (double) and use it on the rug. The mattress is firm and we have slept fine on it. Not recommended for those that like softer mattresses but good for the back!
