Combed cotton is superior to regular cotton because the fibres undergo an extra step before they are turned into yarn. After carding, small brushes comb the cotton fibres, pulling out shorter fibres and impurities, resulting in cotton that is stronger and longer. This in turn produces a higher quality product, ensuring it is softer and more durable as the longer cotton fibres will not break down as easily during use or in the wash.
