The bottom desk piece should connect to the middle draws for safety. It just lays on top. It is pretty.

I purchased this vanity in white. It’s very pretty, easy to assemble and durable. The seat is pretty small, not very comfortable and makes it look like a child’s vanity so I bought an ottoman and use that instead. Overall though, I really love it. The drawers are great and fit all my makeup

Purchased for my granddaughter love the vanity very nice did not care for the stool too small not that sturdy recommend to buy a chair for the vanity
