1. The packaging is strong and safe, but the seat pad is pressed and sticked by the foam sheet. 2. The seat pad is heavy, therefore it is easy to hurt your fingers if you close the seat pad carelessly. It is not suitable for families with young children. 3. The size of the cabinet is just fit to the stair corner.

The item itself is fine for shoes. Very sturdy. The main problem is the lid. Because it is a seat also, it is very heavy and snaps shut. Any fingers in the way and they would be badly damaged ! Don't let children close the lid. There is one small hand space to use safely. So, we attached power assisted arms inside to help lower it safely. But due to the weight of the lid, it wouldn't lower ! So removed one arm and it was a bit better. However, still don't feel comfortable about using the lid, so told my husband to store infrequently used items in it. Useful having one tall shelf for boots.

Overall not bad, but I received a defective item. The bottom shelf is moldy, and the handle is dirty and scratched.
