Living in S. Florida during rainy seasons requires a cover over doors. Our metal awning was ripped off by Hurricane Milton last year. I put this up, added some Scotchguard to it (outdoor type) and today we are having heavy rain. It’s working fine, and I have it rolled out. .This one we will take down from over the front door as the hurricane winds often come straight at the door.

Took about two hours to assemble and the instructions weren’t very clear. Once assembled, however, it’s terrific! Love it!

The awning is okay, easy to assemble and the instructions specifically state not to affix to slanted ceiling patios/balconies. The retractable part is where I don't really agree that it's retractable. It does have a crank but it "retracts" flat against the poles so it blocks the entrance of our balcony instead of retracting into a roll as other awnings do.
