This has been a huge upgrade over an old polyester duvet! It's not poofy but it is dense and thick, it's warm but not suffocating, and it sits neat and square in my cotton duvet cover without shifting around. These duvets are fantastic! It's hard to describe them without the over-use of adjectives and general hyperbole, but I'll try. I'm allergic to feather and down and so I'm on a constant quest for the perfect "feels like down" duvet. I've bought cheap & cheerful ones: They were a disaster. I've bought really (and I mean really) expensive ones from well-known soaking and sleeping retailer and a never knowingly undersold retailer: They were great for a while but then, inevitably, all the filling went to one side or the other of the pocket, and I'd end up cold and cross. I haven't had this one long enough for that to happen, but its construction is different and I have a really good feeling about it. This duvet is light and warm and it, I and my beagle have spent much time together this weekend:-) If I had one criticism I'd say it could do with a bit more fluff. I'm being really picky here, I know. But if there was a product that could be added to up the fluffiness factor, it would be outstanding. That said, I don't have a tumble dryer, which I believe makes a difference; although I did hang it, blowing in the breeze, on my outside for 5 hours before using it.
