Didn't get off to a great start as the package arrived with damage to one corner and the delivery driver made a hasty exit. On opening the package it was very well packed with lots of polystyrene and cardboard and no damage whatsoever. Probably over packaged from an environmental point of view but did the job protecting the contents. There are reviews of this taking days to assemble. I have many years of constructing flat pack furniture and this is pretty standard. The instructions are a bit small though and not without errors (the dowels in one picture are in the wrong place). Also it was not clear that the pilot holes for the drawer runners in the centre are not in the same place (so the screws don't crash from either side). The return instructions were reassuring but thankfully I didn't need them. All the fittings are in little bags with letters on them and the parts have numbers. An allen key is provided but you also need a large flat head screwdriver (for the cams it works better than cross head) and a cross head screwdriver (there are some posidrive screws but mostly cross head). Very pleased with the finished product and the steel top was flawless (but does scratch very easily). The wood is mostly MDF but finished off to a fairly high standard. It is at least as good as units from a well known swedish company. There is a pack of spare fittings in a bag marked "hardware" but they were not needed and all the bags had the correct number of items. It took around 3 hours to assemble. I did make a few mistakes: 1. I fitted the back panel behind the drawers upside down initially. 2. I accidentally initially left out the dowels as they were not obvious in the drawings (and wrong on one - they go in the ends of the bottom tray). 3. I had to reposition the centre drawer runner for the right hand drawer as I though it would be the same as for the left. Take your time, look at the drawings (taking a picture and zooming in may help as they are small). Find the letters on the bags. Well worth the effort. My only criticism of the build is that the drawer openings are a little too wide for the drawers and the runners are pulled out of line a little but that does not stop them working well.. Terry.
