ZWILLING, Sommelier - Butterfly Corkscrew

This wine opener is simple but well crafted. It is heavy in hand - weighing about 23 of a pound. It’s solid stainless steel and has a nice flat silver finish. The craftsmanship is obvious and I doubt I’ll be needing to ever buy a replacement due to wear and tear or breakage. Clearly there are cheaper alternatives, but if you enjoy buying well made items that last a lifetime as I do, you might appreciate this opener. I would buy it again.

I've tried countless corkscrews of all styles. Over the decades now, this particular one is THE best. Ever. For those who prefer this winged style, as I do. It is sturdy, operates very smoothly, the worm is long enough to center/get into the cork properly & the leverage is great. I used one of them for over 25 years before it came apart. So I can't complain about reliability ! There are many identical-seeming versions made by other manufacturers but this is the ONLY one I use - as long as they continue to make in Germany. The Chinese-made "versions" are simply not as good in any respect.
