I hate to admit it, but I've opened a lot of wine over the years. I have been using a "waiter's corkscrew" and a table top unit for the last couple of years. The table top unit is falling apart. The waiter's corkscrew is plugging away but the components are getting loose from opening thousands of bottles and a new Screwpull doesn't seem to be available so I figured I'd try this one. I bought and used an inexpensive waiter's corkscrew which feels cheap and hurts the hand when opening a bottle because it is too narrow. This unit from Zwilling JA Henckels is a little more expensive but I think it is worth it. Wayfair has a great price on it. This unit comes handsomely packaged and is impressive - would make a great gift for anyone who appreciates wine; even yourself! Workmanship is top notch. It is very solid and has the dual lever action coupled with a great foil cutter. It feels good in your hand without hurting when you try to pry a stuck cork because the handle is wide enough to spread out the force. The spiral is easy to use and is Teflon coated. This wine opener is simple but well crafted. It is heavy in hand - weighing about 23 of a pound. It’s solid stainless steel and has a nice flat silver finish. The craftsmanship is obvious and I doubt I’ll be needing to ever buy a replacement due to wear and tear or breakage.
