The lamp is turned on/off by touch. If you leave the lamp on and turn it off remotely from a Wi-Fi or timer plug you cannot turn the lamp on again unless you physically touch the unit (to turn it on again). Not much use if you want to control the lamp remotely. This is NOT mentioned in the product description for this, or other, touch lamps. Also, the glass shade could do with a rubber washer between the glass and the base to stop the shade from slipping. Otherwise quit a nice lamp.
