With a blog called Littlegreenshed, it's no surprise that Lou Archell knows a thing or two about gardening. But when it comes to bringing exterior delights of nature inside, Lou has a few fail-safe tricks that are certain to ensure you welcome nature into your home with ease.
1) Go with the seasons. Forage for seasonal blooms like blossom or cow parsley in the spring and colourful leaves in the autumn. These little updates ensure that your setting is constantly changing and offer something fresh and natural to interiors. You can't really go wrong with nature—it's so aesthetically pleasing even if you're not an expert when it comes to floral displays.
2) Display items that have meaning. A beautiful shell from a fantastic holiday would look wonderful on your bedroom chest of drawers. Not only are these mementos reminders of holidays or experiences but they also add a lot to your interiors and contrast more settled interiors brilliantly.
3) Dried seed heads can look fantastic all year round when displayed in glass bottles on your mantelpiece. Choose seeds that vary in shape and colour for an earthy, yet style-focused display. Pebbles also work really well in vignettes like this and cost nothing.
4) Pots of herbs on your windowsill make a great fragrant display, and are perfect for adding flavour to your dishes. There's nothing like growing your own herbs and even in the middle of the city they give a great sense of the outdoors.
