Its a wee bit deep, as in you cannot see your pens whilst sat at your desk. I imagine it would be bit annoying if you want to quickly grab one. I then noticed that one of the side pockets is actually split down the front, the smaller side of this split was coming away from the frame. Reported it and was issued a refund very promptly, which was great customer service. I think this happened in the factory, probably when the side panel was adhered by a machine, the packaging was like new. Basically as long as its not broken it looks pretty nice but you will have to rummage for your pens, incidentally you cant put the smaller ones (like highlighters for instance) in the side pockets instead because its too narrow for most of them. I think it could do with a false bottom about 2 inches deep so you can actually see what you are grabbing whilst sitting, plus you can hide things there! Shame as I really like the material used.
