The product description is inaccurate - the frame of the rack is made of wood (painted if you get the white version like I did), the sides of the rack are made of plastic. The horizontal rods appear to be metal so are probably the only part actually made of aluminium. While it is overall fit for purpose it is very expensive for what you get and therefore not value for money. However I have been unable to find a similar product with this capacity so I have kept it. If you order, do check the product properly when it arrives as my first one came damaged (delivery fault) and the second had defects (inherent to the product). This is a very poor product. You screw metal screws into plastic. Inevitably the plastic cracks. Mine was basically useless by the time I had finished building it.
