Kids Chairs & Seating

When it comes to children’s seating, we wanted to ensure that we provided Wayfair.co.uk customers with some ideas and inspiration from one of the foremost experts in this area. We hear from Medina King-Sam, the founder of MK Kids Interiors, a London based interior designer that creates completely custom, personalised children’s rooms with her own signature look.

When choosing furniture for your children, ensure it is safe, if it is a standalone piece such as a book case, have it fixed to the wall if possible. For toddlers, consider the corners of tables and use corner guards to cover the corners of shelves, tables of chairs. Finally children love comfort and the security of their favourite things; use a throw and soft pillow, to add warmth, making your child’s space cosy and inviting.

Although children are versatile and can usually settle anywhere, creating a special seating area just for your little ones will make them feel special. A seating area incorporated in your child’s bedroom, their playroom or even the family room, would be perfect. Reading nooks are a popular, yet necessary trend for babies and toddlers, and they can be easily designed with a comfortable chair like the Homecom Chaise Lounge and a carefully curated book shelf.

If you have two or more children, the Children’s Corner Sofa would be perfect in the corner of the room with the added bonus of the bookcases and the under seat storage. Having adaptable furniture that grows with your child is the advised route to take; children grow and outgrow things quickly. If you have a particular theme that you would like to incorporate in your toddler’s bedroom, such as the popular safari theme, why not try the Loose Cover Arm Chair? The cover is removable, making it possible to change the theme of the room as your child grows.

The Brooklyn Joseph Children’s Chair is a modern classic with its curved seating and it oak mid-century modern legs. Ideal for designing a homework zone for your child, coupled with the Wildon Home Writing Desk you can create a timeless space that will encourage studying. Add a Tipi Book Case in keeping with the modern white and wood.
