Designed in 1938 and presented in silver at the 1940 Triennale, the Caccia series of cutlery - an excellent example of “Lombard classicism” in design - won praise from Gio Ponti for the balance it struck between an image of craftsmanship and the industrial future of household objects. Since 1990, thanks to an agreement with the Castiglioni brothers and with Luigi Caccia Dominioni and after extensive philological research to complete the series with the missing pieces, "Caccia" has been reissued by Alessi in 18/10 stainless steel and in 925/00 silver for the workshop Alessi brand.

A great little frying pan - as are all the pans in the Pots and Pans range from Alessi. Great transfer of heat and nice, solid well made pieces with a great slightly retro look. The Christmas balls Angioletto is part of the project Le Palle Presepe designed by Marcello Jori. This design by Marcello Jori combines two great traditions, the nativity scene and the decoration of the Christmas tree, producing a small but significant innovation. The nativity scene, made out of the Christmas Baubles that represent characters of the Christmas scene, can in effect create a new tree design, but can also end up in any other corner of the house.

Somehow, the set of stainless plate ware we purchased when we were first married was missing 5 dinner forks. Marcel Wanders gives this corkscrew the form of a lively, jumping jester bedecked in a multicoloured diamond costume. The Jester appears atop one of those platforms that circus artists use to perform their acts, as they prepare to dazzle with a leap or a pirouette. The designer cleverly conceals the functional parts of the corkscrew within the design of the character. The element resembling a circus platform conceals the worm and is the part positioned on the neck of the bottle, while the jester's pointed hat forms a practical grip that facilitates removal of the cork.

Saucer for mocha cup in white porcelain with relief decoration. The table set Dressed was designed by Marcel Wanders. Traditionally, the rules would require that decoration be applied in the most important and most visible areas of the object. Wanders, on the other hand, applies it to secluded areas, a little out of sight, sometimes even in areas that aren?t normally visible at all, so much so that we could call it a sort of introverted decoration. In this way, even though he uses a language of signs that is very rich and complex, a bit flowery, a little baroque, Wanders manages to maintain a certain level of overall elegance and lightness. The Dressed series is complete in every aspect of a typical place setting and is composed of Plates and Bowls, Cutlery, Glasses, Placemat, a Tray, and Glass and Bottle Coasters.
