The Overlap Apex Log Store from Forest provides robust, handsome protection for your logs. The felted, boarded roof and overlap side panels protect your logs from rain. The slatted floor of the woodstore aids airflow to encourage logs to dry and to prevent damp. Plus, the unit is raised on bearers to protect the unit and the logs from damp. Fixings and instructions are included for a simple self-assembly.

I purchased this as we had an inset woodburner installed last year and, because (our existing outbuilding was already full of other clutter - yeah, I know, how does that happen?) we needed additional space to store fuel to see us through the colder months. This was delivered considerately by a decent chap, he even made sure it was placed somewhere easy for me to unpack yet away from prying eyes. I decided to give it a coat of garden paint in advance, then assembled it a day later. Took me an afternoon to do this but very simple, instructions are a doddle, and everything you need is there. Helps if you have someone to lend a hand to get the panels secured upright but can be done on your Todd if you are savvy enough. Just make sure you construct on a firm flat surface and face it so the back is to the prevailing wind. We managed to fit 1.8 cubic metres of kiln dried split logs inside with room to spare and it showed no signs of stress on the structure. I fitted waterproof groundsheet to cover the front against any driving rain (roll up/drop down wrapped around a garden stake) and moisture getting into the wood. Sheds must always be built on a solid and level base and poured concrete or concrete slabs are usually recommended but these do add cost, time and complexity. This wooden base is a quick and easy alternative to slabs or poured concrete. It has the added benefit of raising the shed, further isolating it from the ground which helps to prevent water splashback in heavy rain.This robust and long-lasting base has tiny incisions that go deep into the timber that allow the pressure treatment preservative to penetrate deep into timber, protecting it from rot and making it suitable for ground contact.Building the base is a simple case of screwing the timber sections together with screws that are provided.
