Cardwell European Single (3') Wood Bed with Shelves by Isabelle & Max

Some parts arrived chipped. Wood is chipboard so doesn’t feel so secure. the two drawers are not attached to sliders - quite a hazard for my child. The shelves are free standing and held by pair of L brackets. Wall fixings would be more appropriate however I have the bed in to corner of the room and the shelves don’t sit flush to the wall. (Because of skirting board). Added some foam pads to stop the shelves from rocking. My boy loves the bed and loves the storage. The bed is a good concept. But has its flaws.

Terrible bed, cheaply made chipboard covered with laminate, DO NOT BUY!!! I received my Cardwell bed on 11 April 2023, after a day the wheel snapped off the drawer under the bed, which I fixed, but now the complete side of the base has come away from the side wall and my son fell through the bed when he went to lay down tonight. He is now scared to go to sleep as we can't make it safe for tonight, the screws have ripped out the chipboard and the staples have all broken free. The whole bed is cheap, flimsy chipboard and for the price charged it's honestly disgusting! I am not prepared to fix this problem myself as it's only 5 months old and I shouldn't have to make repairs to it already. My son is only 11 and not clinically obese so there hasn't been any excess weight on it at all. He also has school tomorrow and is now being kept up half the night upset, it's unacceptable quality for £385.

Flimsy, arrived with a main part broken in half, if my grandson had not wanted it , I would never have bought it. Having now received it, broken, just shows how cheap and nasty it is. Manufacturer should be ashamed of what they have produced. Design good, execution bad!

Very disappointed with this item paid £339 for poor quality materials. Basically plywood. Delays in arrival date. Won't use this company and certainly won't be recommending.

- None of the sections fit together to the bed so the whole thing moves around. - The support leg is very flimsy and we will certainly be knocked off by the under bed draw, which has no stopper. - Arrived with lots of chips and dents as shown in other reviews. - the top drawers are not drawers, they are just boxes which look like draws i.e. no runners or stoppers. - it's basically 3 very low quality chip board furniture pieces moved together to look like more than it is. - worst of all the gap between the bed and under the first shelf is big and pillows, covers and books etc all fall down. First night my son woke up with no pillow as it slipped down where a head board should be. Do not buy this bed.
