It looks exactly like it does in the picture, but it's so complex to put together. There is zero need for them to have made it that hard to assemble, and with the hours of work that you have to do, you would expect it at a much cheaper price. The instructions are too vague and you have to undo everything that you've done so many times because nothing is lining up like it should and you can't for the life of you figure out why. So you end up watching the YouTube tutorial for it, but then we found out we were missing a hole where the slanted, metal bit of the desk attaches to the top bunk. So all the hair pulling wasn't because I'm not that bright, but rather because the thing arrived faulty. But all that aside, it is quite sturdy and the desk space is substantial. I thought it would be just a little tiny desk, but it's nice.
