In my case, that's what I intended to do, but keep in mind this kitchen is only 3 feet tall. My three year old is just tall enough to reach the top of it. It is made out of wood and has no electric parts to it whatsoever. I don't like toys that have batteries because of the noise level and constant battery change. It comes with some accessories like a pot, pan, shakers, spatula, etc. The instructions were very informative and easy to follow. It took about 15-20 minutes to put it together.
