The cot bed I received was missing the hardware. The manufacturer sent replacement pack twice, both times incorrect. Discount was offered to source our own hardware, however, the cot bed also had very toxic smell that did not improve with being out of packaging and in a room with open windows for weeks, so we had to return this. Beautiful cot but the paint / chemical fumes are just awful. We unpacked the cot and left it standing out for two weeks waiting for the mattress to be delivered, and the paint fumes have taken over the whole upstairs of the house! We leave the windows open all day and have odour-absorbing charcoal bags hanging all over the place, but this cot will just not stop smelling, its been almost 3 weeks now! Its so bad we have to open the bedroom windows halfway through the night as the fumes / chemical smell has built up and makes us all feel ill. We bought a painted wooden bed for ourselves a few months back and the smell disappeared after just a few days. We've also had another cot from this same brand that did not smell this bad, so I dont understand what the problem is with this cot. VOCs are clearly an issue here. I'm actually really annoyed that a baby's item could have such toxic fumes, if its causing headaches and nausea for adults, what would it do to a baby who is sleeping in it?
