There are no nuts or bolts, therefore no tools are required (apart from a rubber mallet). Safety straps are included, enabling extra stability. The top bunk is easily accessible by climbing the simple 3-step ladder attached to the front of the frame. The two foam mattresses have removable covers for maximum hygiene.

Got the smaller beds to fit where I needed them. Mattresses are thin foam mats but do the job for smallies. Instructions was one sheet, had a pic of a different bed and a few Instructions in German but was easy to bang together. Nothing included to attach ladder though, had to use our own stuff for that. The bed was damaged in two places, the instructions were in German for a different bed and I had to beg the delivery people to put the two heavy packages in our hall rather than leave them outside..
