Maggie Metal Base Writing Desk

Very easy to assemble (and disassemblereassemble!). Looks good. Only drawback would be that the drawer mechanism is not as smooth as it perhaps could be, but it is not a huge issue for me.

Looks great and I love the cubby/cable tidy bit, and it's pretty sturdy, but there were a few issues with the build: - As others have mentioned, the drawer is not smooth at all. It feels like it's maybe catching slightly on the screws as it slides in and out? - The flap for the cubby is not properly lined up (flush at one end, 4mm gap at the other), so it doesn't close on it's own until I push one side of it - Several of the cam nuts/bolts just didn't "grab" on each other properly - Some of the screw were not machined correctly so I couldn't actually get a screwdriver in them (tried to include a pic of this but not sure how clear it is that there's excess metal in the groove for the screwdriver, can also see the damage I caused by trying to screw it in) - Worst of all, the holes for the legs on one side were not drilled level (one was at about 9.5cm from the edge of the desk, the other at about 10cm), so when I tried to attach the brace it did not line up with the holes on the desk. By this point the desk was essentially built so I didn't really fancy having to dismantle and repackage it to return it, so I had to physically force the brace into position. Really should have taken a photo of this too, but by this point I was quite frustrated and just wanted to get finished...

Really like the desk, but as shown the box was damaged. I should have not accepted delivery but I needed the fest and it looked ok. Luckily the only damage was to a back panel so I don't mind, and for the price it seems very sturdy.
