Normally I'm happy with Wayfair's customer service but today I feel actually pretty hard done by. I ordered a bedside table I've had my eye on for a while and because of this I've noticed the price fluctuating. I purchased on a gift voucher at the higher price - seemed like a nice item, 2 day delivery (which i had to pay for) and would fit lovely with my decor. What i got, a day late than the original delivery date was some really ugly dark grey bedside table. Resembled nothing like the photo. Extremely disappointed- i had paid around £50 for this! I reported this on the website, uploaded images etc only then was shoehorned into engaging with a customer service advisor by text to resolve my issue. The opening line after I just spent time and effort reporting why I was so unhappy including uploading photos, "how can we help you today" or words to that effect. Honestly, why? It apparently was a real person, but why not start with - "I've read through your reported issue.. etc". They did offer me a replacement or refund etc, and initially I was going to take a replacement but then I thought do I want the saga of it turning up grey again. And instead opted for a full refund. Whilst I apparently am going to receive a refund, I'm no better off for all the inconvenience and now have a gift card for a shop with no other items I wish to purchase.
