This came ready assembled which was a nice surprise as website said it would need home assembly. The stool is solid, not really gold, more a warm glow to the wood. My only reservation is that the foot support /cross strut is set a little bit low for me. Also, the plastic feet made it skid on my tiled floor so I unscrewed those.
