The item description on Wayfair is very misleading. While the table is technically solid wood, it is the softest, most light weight, and porous wood I have ever encountered. Not ideal for a solid high use dining table. This table is NOT ready to be used as a dining table out of the box. You will need to sand this table or risk getting many splinters. You will also need to apply a polyurethane or some kind of protective coating on the top because the slightest hand sweat, water, food, juice will stain this table permanently. Assembly is very easy and straightforward. Caution on over tightening the bolts and screws, otherwise they will pop through the tabletop and make it almost useless. Ideally this table would be used as a craft table or in a workshop.
