First off, this is the same manufacturer and dimensions (and photos) as a bookshelf available at another big-box home improvement retailer. EXCEPT that this version is not suitable for horizontal display, as it has 52 screws holding the shelves that have big heads and are NOT counter-sunk. Plus, the "undersides" (when vertical) of every shelf has 4 visible white plastic cams that the screws sink into (52 total). So if you lay the shelf on its side, you not only see 44 of the 52 non-countersunk large screw heads, but the unit does not feel stable because you are laying it on 8 protruding screw heads. And the instructions further indicate this particular build is vertical-only, as they show putting felt pads on the bottom of the shelves in a vertical arrangement only. The photos reflect the different hardware and build of the almost-identical-yet-not-quite unit available at the big box home improvement retailer I mentioned. Frankly, although this was easier to put together than the other version, this won't sit stably horizontally, has all the ugly hardware, and thus doesn't match the units I got previously, despite the photos lying and looking identical. One final note: the box this was shipped in was beaten half to death. Only some serious packing mojo in the interior of the box kept these shelves from being damaged.

Heavy duty! Pretty color, easy to build!

This bookshelf was exactly what I needed! I’m working with pretty limited space & have lots of little things I wanted displayed. This bookshelf has room for SO MUCH & not even all of the little cubbies we displayed in this picture. Very easy assembly, it took about an hour or less to complete by myself. I would highly recommend this item for anyone with a lot of books or other items they want to display.

Very wimpy. I put it together and raised it via its side as the area wasn't wide enough to raise it up by the front. It immediately bend slightly and had a sway. So, I decided to put a corrugated plastic back to it to make it sturdier. But, when I pulled on the side of it sideways, half of it broke off and fell to the floor. The photo shows my hall with half of the shelves standing and the boards from the other half on the floor. Now, I get to drag it all off to the dump. If you get these shelves, building them where you want them, raise them from the front or back, not the side. Move them very carefully into place and don't put anything very heavy toward the top.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas cause she has a ton of books. She loved it!!
