A kitchen island that solves the two problems small kitchens tend to have: nowhere to work and nowhere to put things. The drop leaf top extends when you need more surface and folds back down when you do not, so the island takes 47.5cm of depth closed and 72cm open.
Underneath, an enclosed cabinet with an internal shelf takes pans, crockery and small appliances, and there is a towel rail, a spice rack and a paper towel holder for the things you reach for while cooking.
It stands at 90cm, worktop height, and runs on wheels, so it can move between the kitchen and the dining space. The top is rated to 100kg. Engineered wood and solid pine, with painted MDF panels, 15mm pine drawer sides and 40 x 40mm pine posts. Assembly is a one-person job, and the maker allows about ninety minutes.
