Took a while to put together but solid sturdy bookcase

I've built quite a few pieces of flat pack furniture and this is the worst. The biggest problems are the cams (the round bits that hook on to hold it together). They're really poorly made and often don't turn to locate due to the "jaws" not being suitably angled. They're also soft so if they don't locate they get bent and get stuck so you can't get them back to try again. I only figured this out after I'd built most of it, but if you have some tin snips you can trip the jaws to a point so they locate properly. As for the rest of it, the tolerances are poor, the holes where the cams go are often a mm or two short of depth, leaving the cams proud. The veneer edges is roughly cut and only partly masked by edging tape with a different texture. There's also no rebating for the back and drawer panels, leaving the positioning to guess work. On a positive note the instructions are clear and easy to follow and the boards it's constructed from seem sturdy enough. Overall mine's a bit wobbly due to the problems with the cams not locating and then not being able to get them back out. If it wasn't going in the corner of a room out of public view I would've returned it, but now I've built it the last thing I want is more hassle of taking it apart and organising a return.
