Too beautiful for my cookbooks, although it had a large scratch

Definitely more black than brown, although advertised as espresso. Assembly took about 2 hours and I needed an extra person to help when it was time to fit the two sides together -- lots of screws and dowels to get perfectly aligned, but we did it. Two of the cam lock bolts would never grip, but not in critical locations, so just left them. Very tall and heavy, so DEFININTELY needs to be anchored to the wall, but the wall anchoring hardware that was included was two tiny brackets and a ziptie. I used them but I have teenagers not young children that might be tempted to climb! Leans forward a bit, so I will put some tiny shims under front corner to level it up the wall. Overall, what I wanted and should do the job!

The bookcase came out great! Solid heavy wood. We pre-measured and it fit perfectly in our corner hallway. I would say the user manual was concise and easy to follow; however it did require ~2 hours to put together and 2 people (myself and my wife) at certain points to assemble as some of the heavier pieces needed extra hands once we got the bookcase upright vertically.

Perfect size and very sturdy. One star off for it being a little difficult to follow the directions to put it together. Otherwise, excellent!
