Molt Bed Frame

Took three days off work to receive the item (being self employed this hurts my pocket) as they didn’t deliver any day when suggested, customer care should be called customer script. The only way to contact them took an hour and a half of my life with no solution. DHL then dumped it and ran even though I ran after him to ask about the other parcel. When building, the underside of the bed is rough sawn, yes rough wood that you are going to place a mattress on. The dowel holes have been drilled so large unless you make a packer for every hole you may as well forget using dowels as they won’t join two pieces of wood so the bed would hang on one screw. The headboard and footboard were damaged and poor quality wood. The holes drilled were oval. The centre leg doesn’t reach the floor. What an appalling company with no support and dreadful products.

Seems reasonably solid once put together, but a few issues: 1. The support in the middle doesn't reach the floor (see picture), so probably won't be doing that much supporting - I improvised a solution to add the extra height required. 2. A couple of the slats were bowed, so I had to put some extra screws in to keep them in place. The single screw supplied just kept popping out under the pressure. 3. The wood was quite knotted in places and there were small cracks emanating from them. I'll wait to see if this causes any issues or not. 4. Some of the holes weren't properly pre-drilled, so I had to finish them off myself. 5. The underbed clearance might be correct, but the side panels mean it is lower clearance than advertised if you're putting stuff underneath. Worth noting - we intended to put 26cm high plastic storage boxes underneath (clearance says 28cm) but couldn't. 6. Probably to be expected given the price, but the drill holes on the slats aren't recessed, so you may find that the screw edges catch on the mattress unless you turn them in really tightly. Again, I used my drill to solve this, but it would've been nice for it have been done already.

Guest bed (metal rods rather than wooden slats) collapsed and we purchased this to replace it. Very easy to assemble the head and foot boards and there seemed to be more slats than normal. The inclusion of 2 slat spacers was a brilliant idea and made it very easy to instal the slats and then fix them in place. Liked the look so much, that we moved our old bed into guest bedroom and now sleep on this. Slightly lower than the old bed but very comfortable.
