Awful quality and very difficult to put together.

It's a competitive price for a permanent, good-looking and solid piece of furniture.

I've bought a few bookcases from Wayfair and this was a slightly different model than the ones I usually get. All of the other bookcases have assembled really easily and have been finished to a first rate standard. This one was harder to put together and the three pieces of the back were especially hard to line up and screw in. There were nails sticking out on the inside of the uprights, whiuch I simply knocked in with a punch. Some of the wooden uprights split as I was tightening the screws and there are rough corners on one of the front uprights that have obviously been done during manufacture and just polished over a bit. The shelves were sturdy, but one of them was missing the central support strut. I work with wood, so was able to overcome all of these problems, but an average person might have struggled more. Once assembled, the shelves were robust enough and look well enough in place. The slight roughness to the front is only visible if you see it in certain light. I was gonig to send this back for a replacement, but we are working to a tight schedule to get everything done and I have the skills to fix mostr of the problems, os I persevered. I wouldn't buy these shelves again.

Feels very flimsy for an oak bookcase not what I was expecting

Useless, not deep enough for our books. Lots of splits and dents in the oak coating, which has splintered off in places. Flimsy. Didnt even fit together well (not cut square). But got to pay costs to return and have left the packing out and its now rained. So cross.
