Really pleased with how this turned out. Good purchase and easy to assemble.

It wasn't overly complicated to setup but after assembling and BEFORE putting anything on it, some panels were noticeably not straight. Even when we put game and DVD cases in places to prop it up, it still appeared wonky. Aside from that, it's an attractive looking bookcase and it holds a decent amount.

Some parts made incorrectly making it difficult to follow instructions. Once constructed the bookcase does not look like the advertised picture which was disappointing. Also for the price it’s quite cheap feeling and flimsy, had to attach to wall for support.

Whilst building this bookcase I hated it. Now that it's built, I like it a lot. The instructions start well with each piece needing to have dowels / fasteners inserted. The first issue I had was that not all of the pieces were clearly numbered. Because certain pieces are very similar, it was impossible to work out what number certain pieces were. The only way was to start building to see if they went together. Which brings me onto the second issue I had. The instructions. These are at times incredibly clear, but they're also wrong in places. For example, piece 18 is shown in two places. But there is only one piece 18. They also fail to mention fairly important issues like the fact the large vertical panel is not quite symmetrical, and therefore needs to be fitted a particular way round. But what really turned assembling this thing into a nightmare was the fact the design has changed slightly. Look at the wood coloured boxes on mine, and compare their location to the other customer images. The instructions are right as far as this is concerned, but their lack of clarity meant I ended up trying to use the online images as a guide. Which for obvious reasons made the whole thing seem like an impossible puzzle. There are also certain stages where it really is hard to assemble the various pieces. At times you have little choice but to angle pieces in a way wood really doesn't like to be angled! The finished product does, however look good. There's the odd panel which could line up better, and that's the only reason I've knocked a star off. £300 plus is not cheap and so I'd expect a slightly better finish. I'd still recommend the bookcase though. It's surprisingly roomy and a good looking bit of furniture.
