It's seems decent, mostly metal, I like it has casters so I can move to clean under it. The upper shelves are metal frames with a crossbar, with plastic inserts that snap into place to hold them. They are big enough for me to put all the Bungalow Rose Ceramic Planters I bought, and a few chinoiserie planters I bought earlier. I did not have any issues with the packaging that others reported. I really needed a little plant stand for the sunny window to hold my newly planted seedlings this Spring. This looked like a cute, simple stand. So far, I am very happy with its looks and function. This came in about 5 business days in a small box to be put together. There were not many pieces, so I did it in about a half hour. It came with a bunch of screws and the tool to use on the screws. All the holes were pre drilled, which was what made it go fast. Included was an easy two page instruction book with pictures and labels identifying parts. I only had one problem getting the top wooden part to fit evenly on each side within the tray (bottom) part. You have to adjust the side pieces and even them out on both sides before you screw it in. It sounds easy, but it was challenging because once screwed in, you can see the planter is forcing an inward bend of the wood, and that did not feel right. You will know what I mean when you put it together. The metal pieces on the side are also inserted with a small degree of an angle. Once all was screwed in, it looked nice. The bottom tray is not permanently mounted. The top tray you can also leave unmounted or screw it in for permanence, which I did. It stands well balanced on all four legs. It seems quite sturdy, and I love the natural wood with the black metal legs. The look of it seems to blend anywhere in the house. It is causal and serves its purpose well. Thanks Wayfair!. Julie.
