This stool has a square seat that is made from a thick piece of elm wood, distinctive for its intricate, interlocked grain. The wood aesthetic provides a natural counterpoint to the metal legs. The latter has a tubular design and curves out from beneath the seat. Each one is flanked by two slimmer strips of metal that give the stool a poised look.

Hairpin Stool's round seat is made from real Elm wood with deep ripples and circles that texture its dark brown surface. The four metal legs have a rounded hairpin design that gives the stool a poised look. Small black glides at the feet protect the flooring.

Featuring a design that became popular during the Ming dynasty, this stool brings a touch of traditional Chinese style to your home. Stools developed for seating in Chinese homes from as early as the Tang dynasty and were used by all classes throughout China. Rattan top and 'waisted' style, a popular design during the Ming dynasty and was also common in Chinese tables of the same period.
