The screws that did get purchase came through the wood! There was also very sharp edges to the metal pieces. Stool color is a matte gold which worked perfect with my cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures. The height and width are good but the stool is not comfortable. One of the chairs the bolts didn’t line up perfectly and you can see it. Not enough of an issue for me to waste time returning but kind of a bummer. Regardless, overall the stools are nice.. The cutest friggin barstools! Going really well with my aqua theme for my kitchen. I couldn’t sit on them for long so I added thick chair pads and I now sit in them pretty much all day to WFH at the countertop. Easy to put together. There was a little warping where you screw in the back but didn’t affect putting it together and not noticeable. There was also a small deep scratch also unnoticeable. However there seems to be bubbling under the paint in the seats of both chairs (one more than the other - see pics) for which I had to deduct a star. Since I’m using chair pads you can’t see it but I’m sure that over time with friction the paint will peel off in those spots. I’m too lazy to return so I’ll ignore that as much as I can!. Anonymous.
