The metal frames didn't fit together properly, meaning there wasn't a flush connection with the wood and some of the screws couldn't get enough purchase to secure them. Moderately easy to assemble, though I found it better not to follow the directions exactly (do legs 1st, then screw onto seat) as there was problem aligning holes, so I did one side of legs, then seat, then other set.
