Excellent bookcase for the money. Obviously not as sturdy as a solid wood bookcase, so be careful when assembling. But definitely good enough for the price. It took two of us about half an hour to put up and was fairly simple. It arrived with no damage whatsoever, which was something I was concerned about looking at previous reviews. The instructions for this item were excellent. Each piece was clearly labelled. It is also sturdy and robust so I am generally happy with my purchase. The ‘veneer’ used to make it look like wood needs to be carefully looked after though. I tried to peel of one of the stickers which identified which piece it was for construction and it peels the ‘veneer’ off like tissue paper. Is it worth the price, I think it should less. Definitely more black than brown, although advertised as espresso. Assembly took about 2 hours and I needed an extra person to help when it was time to fit the two sides together -- lots of screws and dowels to get perfectly aligned, but we did it. Two of the cam lock bolts would never grip, but not in critical locations, so just left them. Very tall and heavy, so DEFININTELY needs to be anchored to the wall, but the wall anchoring hardware that was included was two tiny brackets and a ziptie. I used them but I have teenagers not young children that might be tempted to climb! Leans forward a bit, so I will put some tiny shims under front corner to level it up the wall.
