Really pleased with this unit. It arrived two days after ordering and with all the components. The product itself is okay, solid wood although feels quite flimsy. We chose white because we knew we would be painting the furniture regardless but this is a whitewash finish which is not great, unless that's what you're after of course. It is self-assembly which is pretty standard these days but these are a nightmare to build, the instructions are appalling and it takes at least 3 hours to build each unit (x 3) even for someone who is very adept at this. I bought these shelves really excited for how they would look in my space. I was put off from paying the £70! Fee to assemble the shelves as if you are selling a product that can be assembled, an able bodied person should be able to assemble it. It also was not very good that the assembly could not be done on the day the shelves arrived meaning I would have to take additional time off work to wait for someone to arrive to do a job that YOU are saying can be done by by myself. The first issue was the instructions. While the diagram was labelled, none of the pieces were which meant it they were not easily identifiable. The pictures were often too small to see which way round a bracket should be attached and some of the pictures were blurry and no help at all. Also, many of the pre drilled holes weren’t straight making it harder to line pieces up and attach cleanly. After assembling the frame, which took two people, we moved on to tacking the back. I don’t know whether the tacks were blunt or too big but having assembled many pieces over the years, I can say this was the worst experience I have ever had. Many of the tacks took significant force, some split the wood as they went in, and no matter how careful I was, some ended up showing on the other side, which I was not able to see until I had finished and then had to remove leaving holes. Many of the tacks are still not flush as they just would not go in any further. I am sure that if the tacks had been more suitable for the job this would not have happened. Tacking across horizontal support bars was virtually impossible even hammering as forcefully as I was comfortable doing. The back is so thin I was afraid I would break it. Finally the doors, again the picture was blurry with no written instructions and i had to Google how to do it in the end. After several attempts I eventually gave up. Considering the price of the items, I do not expect to be paying for shoddy accessories, and pieces that do not assemble well. I will never buy from wayfair again.. Anonymous. Sat Jun 06 2026

Great products but I had a very difficult time with ordering this product. The customer service agents were amazing, however, some of Wayfair’s internal systems need work when it comes to making efficient returns and re-orders. I had to receive the items which were in multiple boxes (unmarked) then had to open everything to decipher what I should be returning. Upon returning I had followed instructions leaving the items outside, and the delivery guys were constantly trying to grab my attention when on a business call, interrupting my business, even though I had already provided everything needed. Their system also went down when trying to reorder through my debit card, resulting in the need to use PayPal, then my order got put on hold for no apparent reason! Upon redelivery, they left items outside the door on the floor in the heavy rain, which were soaked upon receiving them, when they could have simply laid them against the house under the protection of my roof. The final icing on the cake is that Wayfair wanted to charge me to return the items even though I hadn’t received them yet and had made it clear I don’t want them delivered. After waiting several months for this display unit to arrive, I feel very disappointed. It definitely wasn't worth the wait or the time taking to put it together as it's definitely no simple task. The fronts and sides of the unit are a darker colour than the edges so it doesn't blend in and actually makes the unit look like a 'cheap' item! I really liked the style but have to say that overall it definitely isn't what I expected and I'm glad I didn't pay the price that it's at now! For the price of these bookcases, I expected much better quality. When I attached the front trims to the cupboards, they split and required repair. Bookcase arrived with all parts required to build two. Instructions could have been better, some parts difficult to orientate due to some missing info on the component sketches. I made measurement before I ordered this item, and it is exactly what I wanted. Whilst this product got a 5 stars rating from me, there has been a couple of issues. Firstly, I received 3 different assembly instructions (as seen in my attached photos). The assembly instruction for my unit did not indicate when the back panel should be put in, which means I had to go back a couple of steps, after I had already completed (see set up instruction photo that I had submitted). Secondly, the 'cling film' that protect the cupboard had no marker for me to peel off the sticky film, which means that I ended up scratching the corner with a sharp object. Very difficult to remove. Thirdly, there was no distinguishing between the screw (see photo). Was guess work which screw belongs to which instruction. Finally, there was no instruction on how to put the door onto the unit. The door is connected by magnetic internal hinge. Was a guess work for me. Assembly took much longer than it should for a novice person such as myself.. Quynh. London, GB. Wed Jan 15 2025
