The outer faux leather layer started wearing away at about the 5 year mark and it's in a bad state now so looking for an upgrade. It's also lost the cushioning and is creaky. Considering the price, I still rate this 5 stars for an entry level recliner, it's been brilliant to sink into every evening. Just don't expect to get more than about 5 years life out of it. Two stars are for the delivery and the way Wayfair handled our first complaint. This is the same second chair we had delivered last week due to the first chair having a faulty arm. Wayfair customer service have been marvelous, replacing the chair again but sorry to say the second chair has the same exact damage to the arm on the left hand side of the chair. There is quite a dent in the arm as if there is not enough padding. This surely must be a design fault as it is still the same left hand side. This armchair is manually operated with two set positions - although you can recline further to find your preferred position. The recline function is released via a handle on the right-hand side of the chair as seated and is then operated via body movement.
