This is a stylish, comfortable chair. It is well made, nice finish and great coloured leather. Delivery was superfast! The chair was very well wrapped for transit and arrived safely. Looks good and is comfortable.. Sam. Crewe, GB. Thu Jun 19 2025

it's 2 chairs in one box, sitting on top of each other, which is not a good idea, as then each seat has dents/imprints from the back of another chair. the material is velvet, so it crushes easily already, and the pressure of another chair's weight also dents the padding inside. had the chairs for over a week now and the dents are not filling out, so it seems it's permanent. not quite impressed with that. overall, the chair itself looks ok, but the overall stitching finish is not of high quality. overall, they do the job, but they are not as nice as I imagined. considering the quality it's not good value for money at all.. A simple low armchair in a classic Chinese style. This type of chair developed from the earlier 'yoke-back' or 'official's hat' chair, the main difference being that its arms and top rail do not protrude beyond the chair's stiles and posts. As would most of the chairs produced during the Ming period, our armchair has a rattan seat and a footrest for comfort. It features a curved backrest decorated with a lovely carved motif and carved spandrels at the corners of the posts and top rail. These low armchairs look wonderful in a living room or study, or - as the Chinese would often have done - place a pair of them in the hall or other reception room. Part of our Hanzhou collection, handcrafted from reclaimed elmwood.
