I can’t really comment on this exact unit because I was sent the wrong one…I was told they could send the right one a few days later however I opted for a refund so I could get one sooner. The box was ripped almost in half when it arrived but the packaging inside was good enough that there was no damage. It took about an hour and a half to build and I think it looks great. It's definitely not solid wood, the pressboard felt a little flimsy at times, but it's a TV stand so it's not going to be a high traffic item. When the delivery men first brought the item into the house I was horrified at how big the parcel looked. Obviously it was well packaged so no damage will occur to the item. After removing the packaging and taking it out of the box it was not bad at all. It is heavy, thick and sturday. Very good quality! I could push it along the floor on my own. I cannot carry this item on my own. It fits perfectly for my 49 inch tv. The t.v. stand already came assembled which I was very happy about. All I had to do is give it a bit of a wipe down to get rid of any dust and screw in the draw knobs. Great Quality Product and delivered timely! It took a couple of hours, but I managed to assemble it alone, and I normally shy away from that. It took me a while to find a tv stand that would hide all the wires and had cabinets tall enough for my cable modem. It also has plenty of room for my DVDs. I ordered the grey and must admit it does look more taupe than grey depending on the lighting, but it still works. I love the contrast of the wood grain top. The unit is lovely but the instructions about how to put it together wasn’t correct and some of the screws supplied were the wrong size e.g 40mm screws supplied to attach a 40mm deep piece of wood to another piece. We only managed to put it together as we had larger screws and power tools. Some of the wood used in the unit is plywood rather than quality wood. My favourite of my purchases. The shelf space is brilliant which i really needed my husband has alot of old school consoles and game which fit perfectly. Love the door handles.
