The chair is made of paulownia wood, which is the fastest growing hardwood in the world. The paulownia wood is known for its knotty characteristics, cracks and holes can occur in the wood and give this stool its robust character. Material Paulownia wood is a natural material with a soft texture, it is easily damaged or dented. However, paulownia wood is very hard-wearing and long-lasting, making the natural product very durable. The warm tone of the wood is very attractive for interior items. Paulownia wood has the coarse, robust characteristics of wood. This means that knots and cracks actually give the item its recognisably natural look. Dimensions - Height: 57 cm - Width: 43 cm - Depth: 43 cm - Seat height: 40 cm - Carrying capacity: 25 kg - Weight: 3.5 kg Maintenance One disadvantage of this soft wood is its fragility when used frequently. Items made of paulownia wood can be damaged quickly and are difficult to repair. These were a great addition to my new counter level bar. Bar is 33" and this are perfect at 26". Stools are very sturdy and the right weight so they don't feel cheap. Easy assembly. The solid mango wood bar stool makes a sturdy place to sit down and have a drink. The smooth surfaces are finished with a natural Artifacts finish giving this piece an at home, country feel.

This item comes fully assembled. At first glance it didn't appear that there was any damage. However, when I sat on the stool it was very wobbly so I turned it around to take a good look. I noticed that one of the top rungs was completely broken, the bottom rungs looked like they were ready to separate, and the top of the stool was not completely seated on the legs. Since there was no obvious damage to the box, I can only assume that I was shipped a broken stool. The top of the stool doesn't seem to have much finish on it.
