WoW! I am super impressed with this table. It seems to me to be of high quality it is very sturdy (I don't know why some people say its too light). It is just beautiful. One thing I think is important to mention is the fact that it is not a glossy top as on website pictures and descriptions. It is more of a mat feel with even a slight texture. For me that is only a plus because I feel it looks even more expensive and classy that way. I am really pleased with my purchase. We bought this table for our new kitchen as it matched and was sufficiently narrow at 70cms wide to fit in the space. For a table that cost £520 we were, naturally, expecting an item of the highest quality. Unfortunately this was not the case. See those silver strips around the pedestal legs? they are strips of silver plastic and several of them were coming off. My husband had to stick them back on with superglue. Non-extendable table with painted metal frame and wood-effect laminate top.

This is a very good table - as long as you like the 'distressed' look and feel! So, the construction is very solid, with firm legs clamped to a steel frame (unlike with wood), and a very tough and hard wearing top. The top is an image of distressed white wood, underneath a tough veneer. The distressed concept is even carried through to the TEXTURE of the veneer, so that also has a rough pattern to it. It's very clever because you get all the nostalgia and touch of a table made from old planks, but with the toughness and heat resistance of a modern worktop, on a solid steel modern base.. Alana.
