Although Chinese cabinets would sometimes contain small drawers on the inside, the Chinese did not use chests of drawers for storing clothes as we do today. Our oriental style chest of drawers is therefore not strictly a Ming design, but we like to think that it is in keeping with the ethos of that time. The simple design, including an apron stretching across the bottom that is typically seen on Ming period furniture, gives it a contemporary look that still has more than a hint of Chinese style.

Beautiful elm wood, very solid, looks elegant in our home, spacious drawers. Ruth. London, GB. Sun Jul 23 2017

A wider, deeper version of our Ming Chest of Drawers, with two full-width drawers and two smaller drawers at the top. Chests of drawers are a western invention rather than Chinese, as it was usual to store furniture in either cabinets or trunks, but the style of our chests is similar to cabinets from the time, and perfectly matches our own classical Chinese range. The drawers are mounted on metal runners for smooth opening and closing.

Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and careful workmanship, the chest of drawers is very durable. Similar to other products from this series, it is dominated by a natural wood pattern. Discolouration and different shades on the drawer fronts are the greatest decoration. The individual elements are arranged both vertically and horizontally, which further emphasizes the whole effect.

Absolutely love this. Very solid and beautiful. They do smell for a bit with the treatment on the wood but it fades.. Mary. Thaxted Dunmow, GB. Tue Nov 28 2017

Great quality and looks amazing. One strange design flaw...the drawers themselves have a shorter depth than the cabinet itself consequently there is significant wasted space at the back of the cabinet causing lost storage capacity. However, still love the furniture.. Louise. London. Fri Jul 05 2019
