Black Lacquer

Although Chinese cabinets would sometimes contain small drawers on the inside, the Chinese did not use chests of drawers for storing clothes as we do today. Our oriental style chest of drawers is therefore not strictly a Ming design, but we like to think that it is in keeping with the ethos of that time. The simple design, including an apron stretching across the bottom that is typically seen on Ming period furniture, gives it a contemporary look that still has more than a hint of Chinese style.

This tall chest of drawers is useful if space is limited. It is characterized by its curved edges and classic molding.

Fully assembled, just the handles to fix as they are inside the drawers to avoid damage during transit. Communication was excellent and delivery was very quick. Warm Elm

A wider, deeper version of our Ming Chest of Drawers, with two full-width drawers and two smaller drawers at the top. Chests of drawers are a western invention rather than Chinese, as it was usual to store furniture in either cabinets or trunks, but the style of our chests is similar to cabinets from the time, and perfectly matches our own classical Chinese range. The drawers are mounted on metal runners for smooth opening and closing.

One strange design flaw...the drawers themselves have a shorter depth than the cabinet itself consequently there is significant wasted space at the back of the cabinet causing lost storage capacity.
